About

Hi, My name is Andrew Belson. Currently I am studying BSc Software Development at Teesside University. I have created this blog as a way of documenting my progress during the final year, and sharing anything interesting, useful, emerging and just mental that I come across.

I started programming when I was in sixth form college. We first started using pascal to understand the fundamentals of programming a computer. We then started using Delphi 7 to create desktop applicatations leading to creating a simulation of a petrol pump including a 7 segment display.

A petrol pump simulation wrote in Delphi 7.

I then went on to study BSc Software Development at Teesside University in Middlesbrough. In the first year I studied the following modules Java Programming, Systems Design, Devices and Systems, Introduction to Networks and Security and Web Project. I then went on to study Advanced Java Programming, Programming for Mobile Devices, Windows Programming, Web Services, Database Systems and Enterprise Project. I then took a year out by competing an industrial placement at DuPont Teijin Films in Dumfries as a Software Engineer.
